About

As the capital of Europe, Brussels has an unusual community. There are both native Belgians and thousands of employees of international institutions, who come together to form a multinational audience open to new cultural and aesthetic experience. It is a great challenge to meet their tastes.

We took this challenge when in 2007 we inaugurated the Małopolska Region Days in Brussels, an event demonstrating the richness of the region located in southern Poland with the capital in Cracow. From the very beginning, our intention was to present the most interesting ideas. Each September we bring the stimulating spirit of Małopolska to the capital of Belgium with the exhibition of unusual sound sculptures – earspeakers in Mont des Arts, a wooden playground in Parc du Cinquantenaire which is an inspiring play with design and ethnography, street theatre, and concerts by exceptional artists.

In 2011, we will be in Brussels again, organising the fifth edition of Małopolska Region Days. This year, we are backing youth and creative transformation of tradition. Cultural events in public space are set to culminate with an energetic concert by Zakopower, one of the most popular Polish music bands combining rock sounds with a highlander beat, which will enrich the cultural life of the Belgian capital.

We hope that, enticed by the unique treasures of our region, you will be eager to visit us and discover these treasures on your own.

You are kindly invited.
